Dear SWANA-Georgia Chapter Members,

The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)-Georgia Chapter and the Georgia Recycling Coalition are celebrating Waste & Recycling Workers Week again this year. The theme for 2026 is ELEVATE: History.Individual.Profession during Waste and Recycling Workers Week, June 15-20, 2026.

This effort by SWANA-Georgia Chapter is intended to ELEVATE the importance of Solid Waste Workers across Georgia. Solid Waste workers provide a necessary service for the health and safety of our communities. Our jobs require technical experience, certifications, licensing, and degrees that many folks don’t expect for a profession in solid waste.  Help us ELEVATE the profession by telling our stories and communicating the importance of our profession.

Please join us and celebrate Waste & Recycling Workers Week, June 15-20!
